Efter Ikaros. Alternate title: Icare aboli.

(4), 24 pp. poem (in Swedish) by the noted poet and activist Lasse Söderberg with typography and original graphic works, some full-page, by Gianni Bertini, including Söderberg's French translation transcribed in Bertini's hand and 7 supplemental plates, one double page, the entire volume printed in color silkscreen. Minor toning with isolated instances of image ghosting to facing page, a few visibly overlapping primary image. Small 4to. Printed felt wrpps., with contents loose as issued, light soiling and wear to felt. Paris (Castel Rose) 1967. From the edition of 104, this copy no. IV of 8 roman numeral examples containing the additional suite of 7 plates. Signed in pencil by Söderberg and Bertini.

A striking and rare edition with complex interplay of text and graphic illustrations. Bertini is perhaps best known for his work with and his manifesto on Mec-Art (in conjunction with Pol Bury, Mimmo Rotella, and Alain Jacquet) which celebrated the mechanical reproduction of images and prefigured much book art in subsequent decades. He was also an accomplished painter, graphic artist, and concrete poet. An ambitious collaboration between two important figures in the European postwar avant-garde, as of July 2014, the book is unknown in North American libraries. Book ID: 47944
