[Title from cover.] Portfolio of 20 decorative wall stencils, most approx. 28 3/4" x 41", one slightly smaller, with ornate, floral Art Nouveau designs by well-known decorative artists Cotti and Rigorini, each captioned with suggested position (e.g. living room wall, bedroom ceiling, smoking room frieze). Stencils printed in red on newsprint and folded in quarto, newsprint toned at extremities and somewhat brittle, some edge wear along open folds, a few small chips, 2-3 closed tears along folded edges. Folio. Orig. illus. boards portfolio with cloth ties, toned, joint tape flaking and chipped, corners bumped. Turin (Cordier) n.d. (ca. 1900-1910).
Rigorini participated in the design for the wall murals in the Italian Pavilion at the Paris Exposition of 1900. Unknown to OCLC, these rare patterns are part of a great fin-de-siècle expansion of interior design services and tools developed to assist the burgeoning middle-classes. Book ID: 48066
