(approx. 170 pp.) compendium of typography design and illustration from the 1959 exhibition on various paper stocks, primarily Eastern European examples including a number in Cyrillic, some of the illustrators and typographers named in hand-written notations on the intervening pages, with some of the identified designers including W. Fedorow, L. Susmana, Anton Schilischew, Milka Peikowa, S. Telingater, W. Basse, N. Lindin, S. Pogarskÿ, O. Junak, W. Fatalschuk, and G. Denisow, among others. Illustrated throughout. The Internationale Buchkunst Ausstellung (IBA), initiated by the Verein Deutscher Buchkünstler, or Association of German Book Artists, was an exhibition of book design held in Leipzig, formed after the tradition of the Leipzig Book Fair which dates back to the Middle Ages. The first of these exhibitions was held in 1927, during which approximately 1,100 artists from 21 countries showed more than 20,000 works of book and graphic design. Some of the original participating artists included Raoul Dufy, Lovis Corvinth, Rockwell Kent, Maurice Utrillo, and El Lissitzky. Book ID: 48573
