A sequential run of the first four years (of 6 total published), bound in four volumes, of the rare illustrated Nazi propaganda journal put out by the Luftwaffe, relying heavily on material from the Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda with the intention of inspiring German youth to serve in the Wehrmacht, each volume with title page and detailed table of contents itemizing each issue contained in the volume. Profusely illustrated throughout primarily with photographs, and also occasional drawings and cartoons. Some slight dust-staining and browning, some trimming to a few issues, overall very fine. Large 4to. Cloth, original photographic wrpps. bound in. Some slight rubbing to extremities, very small split to top of spine of 1940 volume. Berlin (Scherl) 1939-1942.
Der Adler also appeared elsewhere in French, English, Spanish, Italian, and Romanian. From 1939 to 1944, a total of 146 issues were published. An important work of German propaganda; a sequential run of this size is scarce institutionally. Book ID: 48969
