ART, NO-ART and ANTI-ART: A Collection of Relics.

Unpaginated (38 plastic sleeves filled with text and various types of material, some filled recto and verso and some filled recto only) presentation of short texts and chapters on approximately 25 important Fluxus and affiliated artists, with most texts accompanied by an art object, printed work, or ephemeral item, objects include photographs of works, posters, a price list, a titled and signed print, a published interview manuscript, flyers, invitations, rubber stamped works, and a newsletter. Large 4to. Plastic sleeves housed in a three-ring binder, with black cloth archival slipcase. Amsterdam (Galerie A) 2019. One of only 10 copies, published in connection with the book "ART, NO-ART and ANTI-ART" by Ruhé.

In the introduction to this volume, Ruhé himself writes: "Anti-art, A-dynamical Art, Auto-destructive Art, Radical Art, NO! Art, Non Art, TOTal Art, Art Total, Direkte Kunst...ART, NO-ART and ANTI-ART is made up of short chapters, the point of departure always being an art object. This can be a photograph, a book, a letter and occasionally a newspaper cutting. They were chosen from materials collected over the past fifty years. Relicts [sic] and the matching stories. There are tales about artists experimenting with new materials and techniques, shifted, disrupted and moved borders, expectation and taboos." A brilliant, individually hand-assembled work documenting in great detail a wide array of artistic activity.
