From the brief introductory text: "The Russ Building is the largest office building on the Pacific Coast and the tallest in San Francisco. Its dominant situation in the heart of San Francisco's financial district, and the character of its tenants, make this thirty-story structure the Center of Western Progress." The photographs in this volume were taken soon after the building opened, on September 1, 1927. Very scarce; as of April 2019, WorldCat locates only a single holding in a North American institution.
