Moscow: Vserossiiskii soiuz poetov, 1926. Octavo (17.6 × 13.4 cm). Original pictorial wrappers by K. F. Iuon; 59, pp. Very good.
First and only edition of this collection of poems by the modernist Grigorii Shirman. The artist, Konstantin Iuon (1875-1958) was a Russian and Soviet painter, set designer, and art theorist. His early works following the October Revolution are seen as "cosmic" in theme and approving of the political events. In 1925, Iuon became a member of AkhRR, the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. Far less is known about Shirman. One of 2000 copies printed.
Turchinskii, p. 600. As of November 2019, we can trace three copies in North America (Atlanta, Amherst, Illinois). Book ID: 50352
